Algarve Race Track features Classic Cars Festival. From 18-21 October, Algarve Classic Festival is back for another wonderful event that will surely be in everyone's memory.
The Algarve Classic Festival 2012 will bring to the magnificent circuit of Portimao several runs as the Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-'61 vehicles, the Motor Racing Legends Pre-War Sports Car Series, JD Classics Challenge Touring Car for 1966 - 85, U2TC to 2-liter GTs, the '1000km 'pre-'72 GT & Sports Car Cup pre-'66 pre-'63 GTs and sportscars among other classes still to be announced.
For Paulo Pinheiro, Administrator of the Algarve International Autodrome this event has become a reference in our circuit: "Some pilots and organizers were concerned about the possibility of this event no longer takes place annually, but this is not the case. We confirm that the Algarve Classic Festival is a firm fixture for 2012, and will be an annual event in nature from now. We take great pride in this event. The Algarve Classic Festival is not prepared to stay here but to continue to grow."
Duncan Wiltshire of Motor Racing Legends, which will account for three races in October, says: "When I came here in 2009, we were not sure that our pilots would find the circuit, since it has the same ups and downs of about 32 meters which represents a technically difficult challenge for the drivers. Some competitors have adapted immediately, while others were naturally apprehensive. But at the end of the first week-end only hear praise. The Algarve has become one of the favorite events of our pilots."
Meanwhile, Carol Spagg the Historic Motor Racing News, and who directs the U2TC and '1000km ', is glad the annual event has been relaunched as a festival even bigger and better: "There were rumors about the future of this event, but As already noted in previous years, optimism, commitment and professionalism of the entire team behind this event, including Paulo Pinheiro and all his staff, I am sure we will have a range of very good races and we will be well received in Portimão.
The drivers love the circuit and we have more entries this year than in previous years."
