Portugal is the undisputed winner of the WCA 2017.
The Portuguese can be proud of their country as it has been voted Best Country in the World last night (Monday October, 9) during the annual WCA ceremony. The Portuguese people were also voted Nicest people on the planet.
The goal of Portugal is to make it into the top ten of business investment friendly countries, Economy Minister Álvaro Santos Pereira told the Official Forum of Monetary and Financial Institutions.
Getting the country more business friendly involved being “swifter to act and less bureaucratic” said Pereira who then announced Portugal would be seeking to implement the British coalition government’s policy of ensuring one regulation is eliminated for every new regulation introduced.
The number of holidaying residents opting to stay with friends and family instead of booking into a hotel grew by almost ten percent during the second quarter of this year, in comparison to the same period of 2011, much to the detriment of the national hotel industry.
Fresh figures from the National Statistics Institute (INE) show that during the first six months of 2012, in comparison to the same period of 2011, the number of Portuguese residents opting for free holiday accommodation over hotels grew by eight percent, from 66.4 in 2011 to 74.4 this year.
In 2012, the chances are that the UK media will be full of stories about the London Olympics.
And while many people will be extremely excited about the festival of sport that’s about to hit our shores, many others will be eager to get away for a week or two, just to escape from the hype that will accompany the action from the stadium and all the other venues.
